Fix for Dead Rising 2 Crash in Your System

Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable

Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is required to be installed while playing the game. Corrupted installation of Visual C++ results in Dead Rising 2 crash. You have to reinstall it in order to fix this problem.

1. Click Start | Control Panel.
2. Click Programs | Uninstall a Program.
3. Select Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from the list of installed programs.

Dead Rising 2 crashes if its registry entries are improperly modified. To repair its corrupted registry entries, do below steps:

1. Download, install and run a Registry Cleaner software.
2. Click Registry Cleaner | Start Scan.
3. Wait for the registry analysis.
4. Click Fix Now button when the scan finishes.

Set Default Sound Format to 24 Bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)

Dead Rising 2 crash can occur if the audio sampling rate of your sound card is set to any value above 24 bit/ 48000 Hz. To fix this problem, do below steps:

1. Click Start | Control Panel.
2. Click Hardware and Sound | Sound.
3. Click Playback tab.
4. Click Properties button after choosing the active speakers.
5. Click Advanced tab.
6. Select the option named as 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality).
7. Click OK | OK.
8. Restart the game.

Force the Game to Run in DirectX 9 Mode

To avoid game crash, force it to run in the DirectX 9 mode as shown below:

1. Insert the Dead Rising 2 installation disc.
2. Open this directory:
My Computer\\Redist
3. Install each and every application stored there.
4. Open this directory:
My Documents | My Games | Formula One | HardwareSettings
5. Right click the file named as hardware_settings_config.xml and choose Open With | Notepad.
6. Click Edit | Replace or press Ctrl + H.
7. Enter the following:

8. Click Replace button.
9. Click Ctrl + S to save your changes.
10. Restart the game.
